WHO: The HLP invites YOU and YOURS to explore creative ways of activating abandoned houses

WHAT: ART PROJECTS, ACTIVITIES, or EVENTS* that practice a thoughtful, respectful relationship with people and/or place. Ideas should do either or both of the following:
1. Rely on participation from the community and/or respond to the house or the neighborhood.
2. Explore the HLP’s focal points and related value statements: history, space, change, movement, wellness, equity

WHERE:  NEAR EASTSIDE of Indianapolis
The HLP is currently located at 818 N. Tacoma Ave, 46201 but will be moving to another abandoned house nearby in the next few months to make room for new neighbors.

WHEN: Programs and projects run from APRIL-OCTOBER. Short term activities are as acceptable as long term projects. 
-April Season opens at the project site, First weekly Porch Party on April 11th
-May Programs and projects begin: artist run workshops, activities, events
-June Ongoing artist run workshops, activities, events
Proposals for Open House due June 21st
-July Open House decisions announced by July 7th

Open House projects completed by August 21st
Open House August 26th

WHY: The vacant housing crisis needs people who are KNOWLEDGEABLE about community, AMBITIOUS about what is possible, INCLUSIVE minded, COLLABORATIVE in thoughts & actions, CREATIVE & CRITICAL thinkers, and DEPENDABLE & ADAPTABLE contributors

HOW: The HLP CAN PROVIDE 
-Project site, outreach and publicity
-Funding up to $2000. Please submit your ideas early if your project needs funding.
-Logistical support, some materials and tools
